Sucsessfull day At Lochans Community Hall

 Building Healthy Communities Tai chi for Health  had a successful car boot sale Event at the Lochans Community Hall last Saturday, The day commenced at 10am with the community coming along and having coffee/tea  and cake supported by  the Two distinguished Tea maids!  Jane Brown and Patsy Cullen  our Tai Chi Facilitators   who welcomed everyone on their arrival



The prize scratch draw raffle prize for the "Papmer Pack" was given to Murdo Macleod  to Scratch off the winning  participant name  and  announce the winners name to the audience  ....lo and behold ! it was his name !    ,Murdo received his wining prize from Michele Graham ....slightly embarrassed !




A wide variation of Stalls provided great bargains of bric-a -brac , clothing , jewellery,  Baby Knitting and raffles kept the visitors busy , And an  amazing £254.00 was raised for the Tai Chi  for Health lochans group  


A message of thanks has to go to Michelle and Margaret for their hard work establishing the day, and to the members of the group who came out to support, well don't to all !and not forgetting   our stall holders ! ...  very grateful thanks to all the Stall holders for supporting our day

Princes Trust Team9 Graduation Event Stranraer Campus

The Princess Trust held their Graduation day event at Stranraer Campus on Friday 6th April The event offered organisations ,family and friends  to hear from the students of their experiences and journey working with the Princess Trust, providing insights to their own personal challenges and how they overcame them. 


Their  group shared a  PowerPoint presentation on the activities that took place over the team 9  Princess Trust programme , from early beginnings  - building confidence and trust with one another , taking on group  team building challenges and work placement opportunity's to gain experience in future  employment


The outcomes of this programme and for team 9 have been,  that all students have successfully  been accepted in further education at the Stranraer Campus and some taking up employment opportunities offered through their attributes shown, working with local organisations on the program.


The Princess Trust would like to hear from any community organisation or private company that could offer work placement experiences for  future students participating in the program.

Building Healthy Communities ( West Wigtownshire ) Tai Chi Facilitators complete their upgrading training

BHC ( West Wigtownshire ) Tai Chi for Health Facilitators  travelled to Dumfries last weekend to complete their upgrading qualifications  with The Paul Lam Institute of Tai Chi for Health ,it was an opportunity to meet fellow Tai Chi for Health Facilitators from across the Region

The facilitators are now fully qualified and licenced to deliver Tai Chi for the next two years in the community , It was reflected it was an enjoyable experience Sharing practice and learning more from the Paul Lam Tai Chi for Health Instructors ,and having everyone trained to the same level is beneficial to us all supporting our community groups across west Wigtownshire .

Tai Chi For Health Stranraer

Just to make everyone aware as from the 9th April 2018   our Tai Chi for Health Group are moving to our new facilities at the Stranraer Library ,The group will continue to meet every Monday as present at the North West Castle Hotel



The group  practice tme from the 9th April will be 2.30pm - 3.30 pm  every Monday  in the upstairs event room at the Library .

Michelle Is a member of the Building Healthy Communities (  BHC )West Wigtownshire  Partnership  Funding Sub Group Committee ,and who supports a range of BHC community Project initiatives including Tai Chi for Health West Wigtownshire  , Move more Walking groups  Cycle for Health  and Cycle -Recycle project initiative
